Terms of use

LAUVANE launches soon. This page describes the service as it works at launch. Until then we only keep the email addresses people give us for launch news.

These terms apply when you use the LAUVANE website.

Who may use LAUVANE

You must be at least 16 to create an account, subscribe or use the studio, and of the age of majority where you live to sign up for texts.

What LAUVANE is

LAUVANE is a discovery and price-comparison website. We show pieces offered by retailers and by the houses themselves, and link to their websites. We do not sell anything. When you buy, you buy from the retailer, under its terms of sale, prices, shipping, returns and privacy policy.

Information on the site

• Product names, descriptions, photos, prices, sizes and availability come from the retailers' and houses' catalogs and are refreshed regularly, but they can change at any time. The retailer's website always prevails.
• Prices in another currency are converted for comparison only.
• Prices are the retailer's item prices; shipping, duties and taxes are set by the retailer. Previous ("was") prices and sale labels are reported by the retailer.
• We try to match the same piece across retailers; if a listing looks wrong, tell us and we will correct it.

Affiliate links

Some links earn us a commission from the retailer. Our link never changes the retailer's price. The main "Shop at …" button may point to a retailer that pays us more when its price is within 3% of the cheapest offer, which is always marked "Best price". Placements labelled Sponsored are paid for by a house or retailer. See how we make money.

The houses

LAUVANE is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or an authorized dealer of any house shown. Names, logos and images belong to their owners and are used only to identify and present the products.

Your account

You can create an account to keep a wishlist and receive alerts. Keep access to your email secure; you can sign out of every device from your account page. We may suspend accounts used to abuse the site.

Text messages (SMS)

If you sign up for LAUVANE texts with a US or Canadian mobile number, you agree to receive recurring automated marketing text messages about new arrivals and price drops at that number.

• Double opt-in. We first text you a confirmation; you are subscribed only after you reply YES.
• Consent is not a condition of any purchase.
• Marketing texts are sent only between 9:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. in your local time, never more than three in 24 hours. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.
• Reply STOP (or ARRET in French) at any time to stop, START to subscribe again, HELP for help. You can also write to hello@lauvane.com.
• Messages are sent through our provider Twilio. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
• We never sell or share your phone number or SMS consent with third parties for their marketing. See our privacy policy.

Virtual try-on studio

Upload only a photo of yourself, and only if you are an adult. You keep your rights in your photo and give us a limited permission to process it, with our provider, only to create your image; both are deleted after 24 hours. Results are AI illustrations: fit, color and proportions may differ from the real piece. Do not upload photos of other people, of minors, or anything unlawful or intimate.

Shared lists and invitations

• If you make a list public, anyone with the link can see its name, the display name you chose and its pieces. Do not use names that are offensive, misleading or someone else's. We may hide lists that break these terms.
• Invitation links are for sharing with people you know. Do not spam them or post them where unsolicited advertising is not allowed. Invitations earn status only (such as "Insider"), never money, credit or discounts, and we may change or end the program.

Rights and complaints

If you believe something on LAUVANE infringes your copyright or trademark, write to hello@lauvane.com with the page address, the work or mark concerned and your contact details; we will review it promptly and remove material where appropriate.

Acceptable use

Do not scrape, overload or attempt to break the site, and do not use it for anything unlawful.

Liability

LAUVANE is provided "as is" and free of charge. We are not responsible for retailers' products, services, prices or delivery, or for decisions made on information that changed after we last checked it. Where the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to US$100. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law, including the laws of Quebec.

Changes

We may update these terms; the version on this page applies. We will tell account holders by email at least 30 days before a material change takes effect.
